 Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is one of the gentlest forms of Yoga available.  Yoga is an ancient healing art.  Complicated maneuvers and complex movements are not present in a Chair Yoga class. Within this type of Yoga class, you can cover standing and seated postures.  Most of these classes use the chair only, due to the difficulty of getting down or up off the floor some people experience. Clients can learn many kinds of Yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and ways of relaxation, with the aid of a chair (or even a wheel chair).

 

Yoga is great for weight and pain management.  The good news is Chair Yoga can provide the same weight management benefit as mat Yoga.  Unlike mat Yoga, your physical size, age and most disabilities will not present a challenge when performing the poses.  The poses or Asanas are often adaptations of Hatha Yoga poses. The non-competitive atmosphere allows people to move at their own pace and still receive dynamic results.  Chair Yoga creates an intimate relationship with your chair which builds your trust and comfort levels as you improve your health. 


With Chair Yoga, Age is just a number.
